Russia has issued a strong warning to the United States against any military action targeting Iran, cautioning that such a move would have “disastrous consequences” for regional and global security.
According to Reuters, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned what it termed “subversive external interference” in Iran’s internal affairs and said US threats of renewed military strikes against Tehran were “categorically unacceptable.” Moscow warned that attempts to exploit unrest in Iran as a justification for aggression could severely destabilise the Middle East and have wider global repercussions.
Russian officials said that an attack on Iran could trigger far-reaching instability and risk drawing major powers into a broader conflict. The remarks come amid heightened rhetoric and increased military activity in the region, as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to escalate.
