Chairing the 9th meeting of the Executive Council of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, at Lok Bhavan, the Lieutenant Governor said that by shaping young minds, India’s future can be strengthened. The Executive Council discussed several key academic and administrative matters and gave in-principle approval to various agenda items.
The Lieutenant Governor urged the University to focus on educating tomorrow and creating dynamic learning spaces for future generations. He called for a renewed emphasis on skill-oriented education, institutional accountability, and curriculum development.
He directed the University to introduce attractive and future-ready courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and other emerging digital technologies, aligned with evolving industry needs and students’ career aspirations.
“The future of the nation begins on university campuses. We must design curricula that inspire innovation, promote cutting-edge research, and prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Emphasising inclusive growth, LG Sinha said the University must identify local challenges, particularly in tribal areas, and develop innovative solutions while ensuring greater opportunities for tribal students.
He also stressed the need to increase student enrolment and modernise administrative operations through the full implementation of the e-office system.
The Lieutenant Governor directed the University to hold convocations regularly and ensure that Executive Council meetings are conducted at least once every six months. He further asked the University to actively engage students in flagship awareness programmes of the Government of India and the UT administration.
