Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday confirmed that Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been excluded from the team’s squad for the IPL 2026 season following a directive issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In a media statement, the franchise said that it was instructed by the BCCI, in its capacity as the IPL governing body, to release Mustafizur Rahman ahead of the upcoming season. “Kolkata Knight Riders confirms that BCCI/IPL has directed the franchise to release Mustafizur Rahman from the squad prior to the next IPL season,” the advisory stated.
The statement further added that the release was carried out after due consultations and in accordance with established procedures, following the instruction of the BCCI.
