The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of ₹131 crore for the India national cricket team after their historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
The reward will be distributed among the 15-member squad, the coaching staff and other members of the support team. Sources said the players are expected to receive the largest share of the prize money, while the distribution for the support staff will be decided according to their roles and hierarchy.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia congratulated the team for the remarkable achievement and wished them continued success in the future.
India secured the title after defeating the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the final played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With this victory, India successfully defended their T20 World Cup crown and became the first team in tournament history to retain the title.
The win also marked India’s third T20 World Cup triumph, further strengthening their position as one of the most successful teams in the shortest format of the game.
