Three Terrorist Hideouts Busted in Kathua After Encounters, Arms and Supplies Recovered

Security forces have busted three terrorist hideouts in the Billawar tehsil of Kathua district following a series of anti-terror operations in the area, officials said. The action comes after two separate encounters in which terrorists managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the movement of anti-national elements in the forested areas of Kamaad Nallah, Kalaban and Dhanu Parole, joint teams of security forces launched a large-scale search operation. During the operation, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire, triggering exchanges that continued through the night.
During a search on Wednesday, security personnel detected one hideout, from where they recovered items including two M4 empty cartridges, a plastic box containing desi ghee, almonds, gloves, a cap, a blanket, a tarpaulin sheet, a small pouch and polythene bags.
The operation continued on Thursday, leading to the detection of two more hideouts in the Kalikhad and Kalaban areas. From these locations, security forces recovered a cooking gas cylinder, cooking oil, charger wire, utensils, an empty oil gallon, plastic bags, a torch, blankets, food wrappers and other miscellaneous material.
Officials said the search operation is ongoing to track down the terrorists believed to be hiding in the dense forest areas.
