According to police officials, the video surfaced online and quickly gained attention, prompting authorities to take cognizance of the matter. “The purpose of the enquiry is to verify the circumstances under which the video was recorded and to understand all related aspects,” an official said.
The cricketer has been identified as Furqan Ul Haq, son of Tajamul Hussain Bhat, a resident of Tangipuna area of Pulwama district. He was reportedly seen playing cricket at KC Door in the Muthi area of Jammu at the time the video was recorded.
Police sources clarified that the enquiry is at a preliminary stage and no conclusions have been drawn so far. Authorities have emphasized that further action, if any, will be taken only after a thorough examination of the facts. The police have also urged the public to avoid speculation while the enquiry is underway.
