JAMMU: Principal of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma has said that the Hospital authorities are fully prepared to meet any exigency erupted due to Omicron variant of Coronavirus.
Addressing a press conference, Dr Sudhan said till date three cases of Omicron virus have been detected in Jammu region out of which 2 patients do not have any history of foreign travel. “However, these patients had attended marriage functions, she added. She informed that Omicron virus is a ‘virus of concern’ due to its pandemic potential and faster spread which ultimately leads to involvement of more number of persons with the COVID-19 virus.
Dr Sudhan emphasized that vaccination facility is running successfully and the best treatment facilities are also available in GMC Jammu.
