Rajouri: An army soldier was wounded in a shootout during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Daddal village of Sunderbani tehsil in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said today.
An army official said that an exchange of fire took place in the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday during a CASO launched by the security forces.
“Exchange of fire took place during the operation in which one soldier received minor injuries and has been evacuated,” said the army in an official statement.
The village Daddal where this operation is going on falls under the territorial jurisdiction of police station Sunderbani and is located along the Line of Control.
The army and the local police had launched the CASO in the area on Tuesday following reports of suspected movement.
