In an advisory as per the news agency, the traffic department said that the commuters are advised not to travel on Jammu-Srinagar highway (NH-44) without confirming the status of road from TCU Jammu\/Ramban and Srinagar because of inclement weather prediction issued by the met department.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\u201cHowever, on 04-02-2022, subject to fair weather and better road conditions LMVs(passenger)\/private cars shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar highway viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cTCU Jammu\/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It said that cut off for LMVs\/private cars from Nagrota (Jammu) will be at 0800 hours to 1200 hours, from Jakheni (Udhampur) at 0900 hours to 1300 hours and from Navyug Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0900 hours to 1300 hours \u201c(subject to change depending on the road position then)\u201d It also said no vehicle should be allowed before and after the cut off timings.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Regarding HMVs\/Load carriers, the advisory said, \u201csubject to fair weather and better road conditions, they shall be allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after assessing the traffic situation on the highway.\u201d He said TCU Srinagar should liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the highway.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSecurity Forces are advised\/requested not to ply against advisory\/traffic plan because of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW. However, they may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of NHW,\u201d reads the advisory.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mughal Road, connecting Shopian with Poonch and Rajouri districts, remained closed for vehicular movement because of snow accumulation at Peer Ki Gali.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road remained shut for vehicular movement because of snow accumulation on Zoji la axis and has been closed till further orders.
