JAMMU: Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) has asked Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) to contribute rationally in boosting J&K economy. During visit at Chamber House, Milind Parande, VHP national general secretary and Mukesh Khandekar, VHP organisational secretary North India discussed various issues of J&K with CCI.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CCI president, Arun Gupta apprised VHP leaders about issues which J&K is confronting since last two years on account of various changes after abrogation of Article 370, reorganisation of J&K, Corona pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. Gupta said that J&K’s economy mainly depends on tourists and the recent tumultuous conditions in J&K have abruptly stopped all economic activities bringing the thriving business sector on edge. He said, though the government came out with some schemes and relaxations but on the whole the scenario is still not promising and there is a dire need to do more to rejuvenate business especially in Jammu region.<\/p>\n

The CCI president highlighted the pain of traders of the region on account of suspension of Shri Amarnath Ji and Machail Yatra for three consecutive years. He however said that pilgrimage to holy cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is going on but due to pandemic and restrictions numbers of pilgrims have fallen giving a jolt to the business of Jammu region. VHP leaders said that CCI being the ace body of traders should take responsibility and come out with a comprehensive plan to rejuvenate economy of the region and should also suggest government the ways to take tourism to next level as this can only bail out the people of Jammu from extremities due to paucity of business avenues at present.<\/p>\n

They asked CCI to contribute rationally in bringing the economy of J&K back on tracks.
