Pulwama :\u00a0The residents of Pulwama Thursday detested the shifting of the proposed site for the construction of a hospital from the town.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Locals said that the government had proposed the site for the construction of an AYUSH hospital at Pirchoo locality of Pulwama town.<\/p>\n

However, the site has been shifted to HanjiporaRatnipora, they said.<\/p>\n

Locals said that the new proposed site was not only prone to floods but also inaccessible to the vast population of the district.<\/p>\n

The hospital is being constructed under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) at a cost of Rs 9 crore.<\/p>\n

MusadiqBhat, a social activist from Pulwama, said that the earlier site had been proposed considering its central location.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe new site is situated at least 10 to 11 km from the district headquarters and people living in villages like Sanagrwani ,Shadimarg, Drabgam and Bambnoo have to travel long distances to reach the hospital,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The members of the trade bodies also opposed the construction of the facility at the new site.<\/p>\n

A member of Traders Federation PulwamaReyaz Ahmad said, \u201cThis site in Pulwama was convenient not only to the residents of the district but also to the people living in the neighbouring districts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chairperson Municipal Council PulwamaShabnumNazir said that 16 kanalland had been identified and allotted for the construction of the hospital at Pirchoo.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, a few months ago we came to know that the government has proposed to shift the hospital to HanjiporaRatnipora,\u201d she said. \u201cThe hospital should not be moved out of the municipal limits of the town and we have written to the higher authorities about it and are expecting a positive response.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
