The details were shared by SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma during a press conference at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, in the presence of SHO Jaipaul Sharma and other senior officers.
The vehicle theft case was registered on February 8, 2026, after SgCT Viney Kumar reported that his Hero Splendour motorcycle had been stolen from outside a boutique in Gandhi Nagar. Acting on the complaint, police formed a special investigation team under the supervision of SDPO South Kuljeet Singh.
Using CCTV footage and human intelligence, police arrested Mansa Choudhary and Abdul Rehman, both residents of Channi Himmat. On their disclosure, 15 additional stolen motorcycles were recovered, taking the total recovery to 16 vehicles valued at around ₹12 lakh.
In a separate case, police solved a major salon theft following a complaint by Mohd Wajid of Bathindi. The accused, Ash Mohd alias Ashu from Uttarakhand, was arrested, and stolen salon equipment — including pedicure and manicure chairs, hair-wash units, and haircut chairs worth ₹10 lakh — was recovered.
Additionally, the special ESU team of Jammu South Police recovered 196 missing mobile phones worth approximately ₹68 lakh through technical tracking and investigation. So far, 36 phones, including 10 iPhones and 26 Android devices, have been returned to their rightful owners.
